The Italian senate has approved the recognition of primary chronic headache as a social disease, a huge step towards the acknowledgment of migraine as the serious illness it is. On April 18, 2019 the Chamber passed the bill and 15 months later it was finally approved by the Italian Senate. This achievement reflects the struggle of migraine patients, and it comes as a fair recognition of their condition, setting a historic goal which could be the previous step to improvements in the diagnosis, the social conditions and the therapeutic approaches of patients suffering from primary chronic head pain.
